Processor Xeon E7-8894 v4 includes 24 cores, 48 threads running at the same time. The basic operating frequency is 2.4 GHz, the maximum Turbo Boost to 3.4 GHz. Volume cache of the third level is 60 MB, bandwidth of the interface is 9.6 GT/s TDP of 165 watts.
In a statement, Intel says that the Xeon E7-8894 v4 can be installed in a motherboard with 4-8 sockets, thus allowing you to get on the same Board configuration with 192 cores and 24 TB of memory type DDR4. In the future, possible and configuration with 768 cores (32 CPU socket joint controller nodes).
The Xeon CPU is designed primarily to server-side solutions, but sometimes used in consumer-grade systems. Besides Apple uses them, for example, Falcon Northwest.
