In the United States developed a battery that charges in just a few seconds

Scientists from the University of Central Florida (UCF) announced the development of technology which will allow you to charge your smartphone battery in just a few seconds. The innovative battery will not lose capacity for a minimum of 30 000 cycles of charging.

This will help supercapacitors, improved through the use of nanomaterials. The batteries have such properties because retain the electric charge on the surface of the special sheet, and does not use a chemical reaction like traditional lithium-ion batteries

In a statement, the researchers noted that they have created a supercapacitor made up of millions of wires of nanometer thickness. The highly conductive core significantly accelerates the transfer of electrons, and the shell of two-dimensional materials ensures a large number and energy density.

“You can charge your smartphone for a few seconds and you will have to recharge during the week,” said one of the authors of the invention Nitin Choudhary.

While talking about the commercial implementation of the project previously, but the preliminary results look promising. Scientists plan to patent the technology.
