In the Chinese microblogging network Weibo appeared the drawings, in which allegedly captured smartphone iPhone 8. If you believe the leak, Apple rejected the Home button on the front panel of the device, and the entire front part of the gadget is the display.
According to the leak, iPhone 8 differs from the 5.5-inch flagship iPhone 7 Plus a vertical arrangement of a dual camera. Underneath the camera module you can see the LED flash and probably a microphone.
The illustrations indicate that Cupertino has abandoned the idea to introduce a fingerprint scanner in the display panel and move Touch ID to the back surface of the housing. On the side faces iPhone 8 preserved the power button, switch for silent mode and volume control.
The table shows the dimensions of the iPhone 8, and in comparison with the iPhone 7 Plus. This may indicate the presence of the novelty display with a display diagonal of 5.5 inches.
For comparison, the dimensions of competitors:
- iPhone 8: 149,5 x 72,5 x 8.6 mm;
- Samsung Galaxy S8: 148,9 x 68,1 x 8 mm;
- LG G6: 148,9 x 71,9 x 7.9 mm.
The specified thickness of the iPhone 8 can be taken into account with the protruding camera module, it is unlikely Apple will allow that value to the entire body. Given the specified width, we can assume that the aspect ratio of the screen of the iPhone 8 will not change.
If the image is genuine, jubilee iPhone will indeed be significantly different from its predecessors.
The official presentation of the device is expected in early September, but the unit will come at least “several weeks later”. According to preliminary data, the delay is due to the fact that the manufacturer is experiencing difficulties with 3D cameras that can recognize the user’s face.
