In Russia may be introduced fee of 15 Euro for parcels from abroad more expensive 22 Euro

The Council of the Eurasian economic Commission will consider the possibility of introducing in Russia the new tax of 15 euros on all parcels from abroad are more expensive 22 euros and heavier than 1 kg. it is reported “Kommersant” citing a source familiar with the preparation for the session. According to the Russian online retailers, it will help them in competition with eBay and AliExpress.

The EEC confirmed that the issue of customs duties in e-Commerce really is in the agenda of the meeting. The report said that the working group on electronic Commerce prepared two draft. According to the first document proposed to exempt from customs duties goods cheaper €22 and a weight below 1 kg.

Parcels in the range of €22-150 and 1-10 kg will require payment of the fee of EUR 15. For goods which cost more than 150 euros and (or) the total weight exceeds 10 kg, will require a levy of 15 euros plus 30% of the customs value but not less than 4 euros per 1 kg of body weight.

Under the second option, the goods with customs value up to 150 Euro and weighing less than 10 kg will be charged 10 euros. If the customs value of the parcel exceeds 150 Euro, and weighs more than 10 kg, then the fee will be 10 euros plus 30% of the customs value but not less than 4 euros per 1 kg of body weight.

Currently, Russian citizens can order from abroad parcels worth up to 1,000 euros and weighing up to 31 kg per month without paying any fees, if you exceed these parameters, the fee is 30% of the excess of the norms in weight and price (but not less than 4 euros per kilo).
