Free service Maps.me updated the app for iOS devices. Fresh version has added functionality associated with the navigation mode and support for 3D Touch for iPhone 6s.
With the new version of Maps.me drivers it became even easier and more convenient to navigate on the map. In particular, the app offers voice prompts during navigation. “Friends, you have been asked for voice prompts during navigation — we did it! Your new Navigator will warn about the maneuver,” say the developers.
In addition, the new version of Maps.me learned to build routes between any objects. Now the routes can be drawn not only from current location, but also between any two points on the map. This allows you to plan way in advance.
The third novelty refers to support 3D Touch. Thanks to pressure sensitive displays for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus users can quickly navigate in the application menu and put the label on the map by clicking on the icon Maps.me.
Launched in 2011, the service provides detailed maps and high quality navigation offline. Maps.me for iOS and Android allow you to download detailed maps of anywhere in the world and use them even without connecting to the Internet.
In a previous update, the service received an updated design and a new logic of display objects at different levels of approximation. At each level the map shows a set of objects: for example, at review the world map the user sees the names of the continents, after approximation — the names of the countries and so on. In each map scale displays only those objects that are relevant and interesting to the user at this level. Because of this it is easier to find the necessary objects on the map.
Roads for pedestrians and cyclists become more clear, and the designation of bus stops — more visible: now the user can quickly see where stops the bus. Motorists will notice that the new version is more clearly marked levels of roads: travel through the interchanges and bridges will not be difficult. On the new look of the app worked Agency Urbica Design.
Currently Maps.me contains about 2.5 million km of Hiking roads around the world (including 12,000 miles of stairs).
