If you forgot password to iPhone or iPad: two ways to regain access to the device

Apple offers owners of iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch several ways to protect information on the device, one of which is lock with a password. Restore in iTunes

Use the “Find my iPhone”

If the device has enabled Find my iPhone you can use it to erase data.

Step 1: Go to the page icloud.com/#find to check whether your device is a function of Find my iPhone.

Step 2: Click the drop-down list “All devices” at the top of the browser window.

Step 3: Select your device and click “Erase [device]” to remove from the device data and the password.

Step 4: Use the setup assistant on your device to restore the data from a recent backup.
