Step 1: Download the file iOS 9.2.1 from Apple at this link.

Step 2: make sure you have installed iTunes 12.3.3. Download the latest version at this page.

Step 3: back up your data. This can be done on the iPhone or iPad: iCloud –> Backup –> backup, or by connecting mobile device to computer and save a backup using iTunes.
