How to know the password to the Wi-Fi network for Mac or Windows

Now almost all the electronics that we use in everyday life, has installed devices to access the Internet. To share the global network of smartphones, laptops, iPods, TVs and other appliances combined into a wireless network. Even the dummies are now have Wi-Fi.

Wireless network it fairly simple and does not require special knowledge, however, many users trust this process to friends or professionals. It often happens that, when finished, they leave no configuration data, unless of course this is not specifically asked. Some do not give this data, because I want to get next time you call a registered or can be simply forgotten or unnecessary to count.

At the initial stage to know the password from the Wi-Fi is not necessary – it’s working, the task is completed and there is no desire to bother with unnecessary details. Depending on your computer – Mac or PC – just need to remember or save a single command in the Terminal to determine a password from a wireless network.

Mac OS X:

Step 1: Open a Terminal window from the Utilities folder or using Spotlight search.

Step 2: Paste the following command and replace the SSID with the name of your wireless network.

security find-generic-password-ga SSID | grep password

Step 3: Enter the administrator password.

Windows:

Step 1: Start a command prompt.

Step 2: Copy and paste the following command, replacing the SSID name of the wireless network.

netsh wlan show profile name=SSID key=clear

Step 3: Press Enter to display the password.
