In late May, Xiaomi held a presentation of seven new devices in Russia. One of them was an important update to the Mi Smart Band 4 fitness tracker. Finally, the NFC version is now available!

But in connecting the card to this fitness bracelet, there are certain tricks. The most important of them is the use of exclusively MasterCard cards. Xiaomi has an agreement only with this payment system, so your Visa, Mir, UnionPay or their analogues will not work.
The second limitation was the ability to use only certain banks and payment systems:
VTB;
Bank opening”;
“Yandex money”;
“Moscow credit bank”;
“Credit Europe Bank”;
Russian Standard Bank”;
PSB;
Russian Agricultural Bank;
Raiffeisenbank;
Tinkoff Bank.
That is, you can’t attach the cards of other banks.
To start using you need to download the Mi Fit application and log in using the Mi-account. Attention: it is important that you indicate the region “Russia”. Without this, your card will not bind, and the application will display an error “Could not load data” or “Could not receive data”:
How to change the region?
Alas, at the moment, it seems, nothing at all. For example, Mi Fit cannot be assigned a phone number to an account on either Android or iOS, since it is impossible to change the international phone code from +89 to +7 in the application. In the settings, I also could not find any mention of the region.
The forums suggest deleting the Mi Fit account. This removes all data about your runs, closed rates and other activities.
To delete an account, go to your profile:
Then log in to the application using the Mi-account. When registering, you can choose Russia as your home region.
How to connect a card?
To get started, go to the profile settings, and then select your Mi Smart Band 4:
Now you can snap your map:
While the card will be tied for two minutes, you will be shown a brief instruction:
After that, you will need to enter the code that you will receive via SMS. This will be the last stage of map binding:
Now you are great and you can use your fitness tracker to pay!
How to secure your data?
It’s a rather strange decision not to enable the default bracelet lock, but to implement this function as an experimental feature. To activate it, go to the settings of the bracelet and scroll to the very bottom, where you will see the “Laboratory” item:
The lock code can be selected only four-digit and only consisting of numbers from 1 to 4. There are not many combinations, but this is better than the option when your bracelet is generally password-free.
After that, I recommend rebooting the bracelet. You can do this directly on it by going along the path: “Advanced” → “Settings” → “Reboot”.
After that, the settings will definitely take effect, and whenever you wear a bracelet, he will prompt you to enter a code to unlock it.
Go buy a shawu with Mi Smart Band 4 NFC!
We decided to check if the payment works, in our SHWARM – bistro on Pokrovka street, 2/1 building 1. Here they cook the best falafel in Moscow, and what a shawarma! In short, come. It is very tasty there.
Today I decided that I want chicken kufta and Moroccan tea. I made an order and began to prepare for payment:
If you simply bring the Mi Band 4 NFC to the terminal, then nothing will happen – it is not Android for you! Therefore, you must first get to the item with maps in the main menu:
Select the desired card and click on the arrow to activate it for work:
After that, the timer starts for 60 seconds. During this time, you can pay for the purchase.
If the terminal was not ready by this time, then there is no problem – activate the card again.
Bring Mi Smart Band 4 NFC to the terminal. And that’s it: the bracelet will vibrate, notifying you of payment!
And now I’m going to enjoy the awesome SHWARM kyuft!
