How to enable two-factor authentication for Apple ID and iCloud

Two-factor authentication is a special feature designed to enhance the safety of online Apple services. It is designed to protect user data when using accounts Apple ID and iCloud for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac.

In 2013, Apple launched two-factor authentication, which can guarantee the users that they only can access to your account, even if someone discovers the password. In 2015 with the launch of iOS 9 and OS X Yosemite, the company introduced two-factor authentication. Although the service sounds like two-factor verification, he added an additional layer of security that protects your account in case of hacking by hackers.

Step 2: Click Password and security.

Step 3: Click “Configure two-factor authentication”.

Step 4: Specify the parameters when you are finished.

On a Mac with OS X Yosemite or later:

Step 1: Go to the Apple menu and launch System preferences.

Step 2: Navigate to iCloud and select “Account”.

Step 3: tap on “Security”, then enter the password from the Apple ID.

Step 4: Click “Enable two-factor authentication”.

Two-factor authentication significantly strengthens the protection of the Apple ID. After enabling this function to log in to your account you will need the password and access the devices checked or verified phone number.
