By default, a directory with recent files opens in a new Finder window in macOS, which is not always convenient. We describe how to assign a folder that opens when you run Finder.
This instruction can be useful to those who work with a huge number of files, especially on a network drive.
To use another default Finder folder, you must:
Open Finder window;
In the menu bar, go to “Finder” -> “Settings”;
In the “Basic” tab, click on the drop-down menu under the line “Show in new Finder windows”;
Select a folder from the list or click “Other” to specify the path to the desired directory;
Is done. Now when you open a new Finder window, the folder that you selected instead of the recent files will be displayed.
