On Wednesday, Apple announced the expansion of the program student discount for streaming Apple Music service to 25 countries. Now they include China, India, Canada, Russia and others.
Students of Russian universities will be able to gain access to the Apple Music at a lower price. If the cost of a regular subscription is 169 rubles per month, with students Apple asks for only 75 rubles. Discount will be valid for four years or until such time until the user will cease to be a student.
If you join Apple’s Music as a student, the verification service UNiDAYS must confirm that you are enrolled in a College or University that awarded the degree. The service periodically checks your status. If UNiDAYS find out that you are no longer a student or have expired 48 months student subscription, the subscription will automatically become an individual subscription Apple Music.
According to the plan Apple student Apple Music will attract a large number of new users: as of September, the streaming service were 17 million subscribers.
How to apply for student Apple Music subscription:
On the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
Open the program “Music”. If the Apple Music screen does not appear, press the “For you” at the bottom.
If you subscribe to Apple’s Music or previously used a free subscription for three months, click “obtain a free subscription for three months”. If you are an active member of Apple Music, click “log in” and switch to the student membership.
Select students.
Click “Confirm student status”. Opens a browser window.
Enter your email address and search for the name of the institution.
If you already have a UNiDAYS account, click Already verified with UNiDAYS? (Check with UNiDAYS already been run?) and log.
If you’re studying abroad, Studying first hit outside of [country name]? (Training outside [country]?) and change the country.
If you need help, click UNiDAYS Support (support UNiDAYS).
Log on to the portal of the institution. After signing in and verification of student status will display the message “Open this page in “Music”?” Click “Open” to return to the program “Music” and complete the subscription.
If you subscribe to Apple’s Music for the first time, click “obtain a free subscription for three months” to start using the student subscription. If you already use Apple Music for more than three months, hit Start Student Membership (to Start using the student subscription).
If prompted, enter your Apple ID and password used to access the iTunes Store. To enter you can also use Touch ID. You may need to verify payment information, but you won’t be billed until the free trial period of three months. Add a valid payment method and click “Subscribe”. For the student subscription, you can use the same payment methods as regular subscription Apple Music.
If prompted, accept the General terms and conditions.
Select the genres and artists that you like.
On your Mac or PC
Open iTunes.
In the upper left corner, select (“Music”), and then select “For you” at the top of the iTunes window.
If you subscribe to Apple’s Music or previously used a free subscription for three months, click “obtain a free subscription for three months”. If you are an active member of Apple Music, click Login, and then switch to the student membership.
Click “get started” and select “Student”.
Click “Confirm student status”. Opens a browser window.
Enter your email address and search for the name of the institution.
If you already have a UNiDAYS account, click Already verified with UNiDAYS? (Check with UNiDAYS already been run?) and log.

Download the Apple Music app from the Google Play store.

Select Are you a college student? (You are a student?).
Click “Confirm student status”. Opens a browser window.
Enter your email address and search for the name of the institution.
If you already have a UNiDAYS account, click Already verified with UNiDAYS? (Check with UNiDAYS already been run?) and log.
If you’re studying abroad, Studying first hit outside of [country name]? (Training outside [country]?) and change the country.
If you need help, click UNiDAYS Support (support UNiDAYS).

If you have an individual subscription Apple Music, it can be changed on the student’s subscription in the “Music” or in iTunes on your computer.
If you are a subscriber to Apple Music, your student subscription will not take effect until the end of the current billing cycle. Account for the price of a student subscription will be issued only from the date of renewal.
