Head of “Sberbank”: app “Sberbank.Online making secure Android same as iOS

Herman Gref, Chairman of Sberbank, called the Android mobile operating system itself unsafe. He said this, answering questions in a social network “Vkontakte”.

Gref has warned users about malware on Android and recommended to use Sberbank. Online” which, according to him, makes the gadgets on the platform of Google the same protected like the iPhone and iPad.

“I would recommend not to develop a mobile app and simply install the mobile application “Sberbank.Online” based on two grounds. The first is the only mobile app for 60-70% of users of Android, which is the most insecure system. And we made a security system which “closes” all Android”, – said Gref.

“If you set “Sberbank.Online”, then consider that your Android is protected as iOS or any other system,” — said the head of “Sberbank”.

Recently a resident of the Kamchatka region have complained of virus in Android smartphone. “Malware” was kidnapped from his credit card 78 000. The man learned of the theft of funds from SMS to transfer money to the account of unknown to him a Bank card. Many viruses for Android block the delivery of messages from the Bank, so the users know about the theft much later.

According to antivirus company Symantec, in 2015 the number of infections of Android devices viruses increased by 40%. During this period, the company recorded a total of 13 783 of precedent infection of gadgets on Android malware, focused on the popular mobile platform. For comparison, over the same period, iOS was discovered only 9 successful cases of iPhone and iPad.
