Google on their maps was renamed the city of Crimea in Ukrainian

Network users drew attention to the fact that the foreign service, which operates in Russia and has official representation, have renamed some settlements on the territory of Crimea in accordance with the decisions of the authorities of Ukraine.

We are talking about Google Maps. If you compare, for example, the same fragment of the map on the search engine and Apple maps, we can see that in one case Crimean city listed as Krasnoperekopsk and on the Google map, this city is listed as the Yani mouthpiece.

Apparently, similar changes were adopted by 12 may 2016 by the resolution of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine about renaming of the separate settlements of the Republic of Crimea in the framework of the laws on de-communization.

Hundreds of settlements were renamed in the neighboring country in the framework of the law. Under it were, in particular, and the largest town Square — the now-former Dnipropetrovsk. He was simply a Dnieper.

Renamed the MPs and city in the Crimea, which Ukraine still considers its territory. As noted, “Maintain”, in addition to renamed the Yani mouthpiece Krasnoperekopsk, “decompensirovanny” names also received Krasnogvardeyskaya (Kurman), Kirov (islyam-Terek), Soviet (testes is), Libknekhtivka (China) and others.

The Russian office of Google was unable to immediately provide a comment.
