Google has launched an offline mode for mobile apps Google Maps. This is stated in the company blog. From today the update will be available to users of Android app worldwide and iPhone and iPad the function will work “soon”.
On Google Maps without a Network connection you can see a detailed map of the desired area, get directions, and find the address, for example, restaurant or store. By default, the function of downloading maps only works when connected to Wi-Fi.

The time to destination will be calculated approximately on the basis of accumulated data about traffic jams. If you have downloaded maps, the service automatically switches to offline mode when necessary.
