Google Lens has learned to recognize and pronounce handwritten text

Google said that soon all users of Google Lens on Android and iOS will have new useful features (some are already available, by the way).

Handwriting recognition and shared clipboard

The first, most interesting, in my opinion, function allows you to scan handwritten text and send it to a computer.

How it works?

The smartphone must have the Google Lens app installed, and the Chrome browser with one Google account must be installed on the computer. Next, you need to scan the handwritten text and press the "Copy to computer" button. Everything, the text should appear on the clipboard of the computer.

A similar function has existed for several years on iOS and macOS devices, but iPhone does not recognize any handwriting – it’s just a common clipboard, you can throw text or photos, it works tolerably, but the same “magic” does not always happen.

Correct pronunciation

This is the second new feature that will also be available to all Google Lens users over time. For example, you scanned a handwritten text and do not understand how to pronounce a word or a whole sentence in another language. Select and press the button “Listen” – the computer will tell you how to speak correctly.

Supports over 100 languages. If you need to learn not only the pronunciation of a word, but also its meaning – swipe up and go to search queries, where there will be a card with a description or just links to the topic.

Google hopes that the new features will help people working at home. As I said, the function is distributed gradually and after some time it will become available to all users.
