Google bought the Belarusian company from the sphere of artificial intelligence AIMatter, which is developing neural network applications.
The transaction amount was not reported, but the head of the company Andrey Kulik said that they were “deeply satisfied” with the terms of the agreement with Google. Investor Yuri Mills added that this is the first case when the IT-company level Google buys a company from Belarus, not intellectual property or affiliated company in another jurisdiction.
AIMatter developed two applications. Fabby appeared at the end of 2016, the application allows you to change the background of the photo. In June 2017 the company has released an app Fabby Look, which changes the hair color on your photo.
Yury Gursky previously invested in the app MSQRD and Prisma. In February 2016, he became the Vice-President for new products Mail.Ru Group, but left the company in July of the same year. Yuri Mills was the co-founder of the mapping project Maps.me that in 2014 with the team redeemed Mail.Ru Group. He left the holding company in the summer of 2016.
