Function NumberSync in iOS 9.2 promises a revolution for voice calls

Recently released the second beta build of iOS 9.2 has been very interesting innovations. In particular, Apple added in the update is a unique feature of the Internet call forwarding.

In order to use the new mode voice calls, you must activate the feature called “wifi Calling on this iPhone” in the settings of the smartphone. Despite the distinct advantage and convenience innovations, it does not add the GSM mode for incompatible devices, and includes a kind of transfer calls from one device to another over the Internet.

If Continuity before technology provided the ability to transfer calls from iPhone to Mac user only within the same Wi-Fi network, with the release of iOS 9.2 this restriction no longer applies. In practice, this means that the user can lift the handset on your home computer or tablet even if paired iPhone with it for many miles from them, switched off or out of coverage area.

This was possible thanks to the technology NumberSync developed in Apple. When the user first inserts the SIM card into the iPhone and “synchronizes” the gadget with Continuity, automatically turn on the Internet forwarding. From now on, you can receive calls on Mac or iPad, if the device is connected to the Internet and configured to use the same Apple ID. The beta version of OS X, tvOS and iOS have already gained access to NumberSync.

Unfortunately, to test a new functionality of “nine” can only U.S. residents, since the technology works with the support of mobile operators.
