Stories about how enthusiasts found a certain set of characters that can disable the iPhone appear on the network once every two years. Apparently, the next time came, as there was information that a new way had been found to disable iPhone on iOS 13 and iPad on iPadOS 13 with a single message.
And, interestingly, apparently, this vulnerability works not only in WhatsApp or Facebook, but in absolutely any messenger and social network installed on a device running iOS or iPadOS. It is enough for a person to receive a notification of receipt by a “text bomb” so that his device starts to restart endlessly.
At the moment, there is no regular way to protect yourself from this vulnerability. The only thing we can advise is to disable notifications from any applications in which someone can send you a message. It is likely that Apple is aware of the problem and is already trying their best to solve it.
