Fitness bracelets ahead of all other Wearables, including Apple Watch

Sports bracelets was the most popular type of wearable electronics on the market . This is evidenced by the report of the research company Kantar Worldpanel.

According to cited data, wearable electronics in the first quarter were in great demand. In particular, every tenth resident of the United States (12.2 per cent) have a device from this category. Three quarters of these devices — activity trackers and other smart wristbands.

Analysts have found that 61.7 percent of the market in the US was captured by the Fitbit company. Apple only 6.8%. It should be understood that to compare these companies is hardly appropriate, as they spetsializiruyutsya on a few different device categories. It is noteworthy that 43,1% of all fitness trackers US citizens are a gift. For “smart” hours, this share is also considerable — 33,3%.

In Europe, only 6.6% of residents have some kind of device that relates to wearable electronics. But there is a much higher proportion of “smart” hours — of 55.2% against 22.9 per cent in the United States. Fitbit here as well ranked first, but in this case only 18.5% of the market. Apple and Samsung – with 14% and 11.6%, respectively.

39% of all “smart” watches purchased in the UK, Germany, Italy and France, were bought to replace the classic wristwatch, the researchers note. In Apple’s case, the percentage above is 49.6%. For the USA these figures are 31.9% and 43%, respectively.
