The Federal Antimonopoly service of Russia plans to introduce a new law forcing electronics manufacturers to preinstall on their devices Russian software.
Large corporations like Apple and Microsoft have to replace the built-in apps on domestic counterparts. For example, the messenger TamTam developed by the social network Odnoklassniki, performs the same function as iMessage and WhatsApp. Streaming service Yandex.Music works the same way as Apple Music, Google Music and so on.
While it is difficult to tell whether the authorities to force Western companies to install their products IN Russian. If on Windows and Android, they still will be able to influence, but with Apple to negotiate are unlikely to succeed. The iPhone maker has always insisted on the “purity” brand of operating systems and even the us communications providers are forbidden to download in your smartphone and tablets third-party applications.
