FAS suspected Samsung in the coordination of prices in Russia on the example of Apple

The Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) of Russia checks Samsung for coordination of prices on smartphones by analogy with Apple. This was announced by the head of Department for combating cartels Andrey Tenishev.

The Federal Antimonopoly service began an investigation in relation to the South Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung. The Agency suspected that there is a similar to the us Apple co-ordinate the prices of their products.

“At Samsung we have complaints, we check. What the outcome, I can’t say. I think next year we will deal with this issue with Samsung,” he said.

The Tenishev also stated that the Federal Antimonopoly service in February 2017 will make a decision in the case against Apple on the coordination of the prices for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

“In January and February, this decision (about the guilt or innocence of Apple) passed. In February, most likely – said he, answering the relevant question.

The Tenishev explained that December 8 will be a meeting for the consideration of the case against the company from Cupertino, but the Agency will not be able to deliver an opinion on the case. “This is a preliminary hearing, procedure even it will be difficult it (the case) to finish,” he explained.

This summer, the FAS has already initiated a similar case against Apple. The Agency saw signs of coordination of prices that the 16 largest retailers of Russia set the same price on smartphones Apple.
