Social network Facebook has risen on account of the Russian tax service for payments on the territory of Russia, the so-called “tax on Google”. This is reported by “Vedomosti” with reference to the representative of the Department.
The representative of Federal tax service told the publication that among the registered companies, in addition to Facebook, also have Apple, Google, Microsoft, Netflix and Wargaming, Bloomberg, Financial Times and others.
We are talking about the so-called “tax on Google” in the amount of 18% applied to the widest range of services in the Internet: from software, music and movies to broadcast TV and communications services. The act of paying foreigners VAT, the state Duma adopted last summer.
According to the source, half of the list of registered companies sell software and games, 30% off movies, music and other content, about 15% are trading platforms and services, online reservation, “a small percentage” take the search engines and other organizations. They will pay VAT on a quarterly basis, so the first fees will go to the budget until April 25, 2017.
Authorities expect to receive from the taxation of foreign companies up to 10 billion rubles “at first”. According to experts, large companies would not get away from new fees because of the risks to their reputation, followed by “catch up” small organization.
