Experts DisplayMate delighted with the display of the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro

At the end of March Apple presented a new modification of the tablet computer – iPad Pro with 9.7-inch screen. Testing the display of the device, the company DisplayMate called it “truly inspiring”, noting “outstanding” characteristics of the panel. According to experts, the new iPad Pro is the best LCD screen of all, what got them to the tests.

The new iPad Pro comes with a 9.7-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels (264 pixels per inch). The device display is 25% brighter than the iPad Air 2. Compared with its predecessor and an older model of iPad Pro, it has a wider color gamut, allowing you to receive 25% more color saturation and supports the adaptation of the color temperature of the display is True Tone. It is 40% less prone to glare than display predecessor.

DisplayMate concluded that due to anti reflective coating new the new iPad Pro has received the display with the lowest coefficient of reflection in the industry. The previous record for the level of reflection – the iPad mini 4 and iPad Air 2 boast a value of 2 and 2.5%, respectively, while the majority of experts tested tablets ranging from 5.0% to 6.5% (including iPad mini 3). So the display iPad Pro with a coefficient of 1.7% can be considered the champion in this area.

In DisplayMate noted another interesting fact. Despite the fact that the display is 9.7 inch iPad Pro is much brighter than the iPad Air 2, the power consumption is about the same.
