Don’t buy a new MacBook Air, just replace the battery

Within WWDC 2017 Apple has updated line of laptops MacBook Air. A full update can not be called, but now the computers will work a little faster. The company decided that the MacBook Air line needs to die a slow death as customers gradually switch over to the MacBook and MacBook Pro. Now MacBook Air is the minimum modification equipped with a processor with a clock frequency of 1.8 GHz instead of 1.6 GHz. But it is too modest update to buy a new Air.

MacBook Air, bought even in 2012, it will be great to work with that, then it cost $899. For laptop Apple it was a good price considering that this device is not for one year. However now some users start to experience problems, the main of which – the rapid discharge of the device.

Instead of having to buy a new MacBook Air, you can just replace the battery, which will cost about $129 from Apple and 5000-6000 rubles in the Russian reality. Usually, replacing the battery solves all the problems the MacBook Air, and it runs like new again.

At the moment there is no sense to buy a new laptop for several reasons.

First, what is happening in the laptop market, can be called the transition period. Many companies are experimenting with different form factors, trying to release a hybrid tablet / laptop can fully replace a laptop. There is also cheap enough Chromebook comfortable to perform basic tasks. However, none of the above cannot be called a replacement for the standard laptop or computer.

Second, now on the market of portable computers it is difficult to find a device with an excellent ratio price-quality. These laptops were released was in 2012, when the MacBook Air was still the new device. Even now, your old MacBook Air is a pretty good laptop which can cope with almost all tasks. So there is no point in spending money to buy a new laptop from the line of Air.
