According to Gartner, in the second quarter of 2018 sales of computers increased by 1.4 percent, while IDC said the growth by 2.7 percent. Both companies have different believe sale, but says the same the cause of the growth.
IDC includes Chromebooks and consider the tablets based on Windows, including devices with a detachable keyboard, like Surface Pro. Gartner believes that tablets for Windows are part of the PC market, but excludes the other tablets and Chromebook.
Sales growth due to increased demand for the business market, because companies have begun to upgrade computers to the latest models on Windows 10. Principal Gartner analyst Mikako Kitagawa am sure that in the business segment sales growth will start to fall in two years when there will be a rush of updates. The head of research at IDC, Jay Chou added that the computers still are not a standard device in many scenarios, but the PC experience is continuing to improve and develop.
PC sales have grown HP, Lenovo, Dell, Apple and Acer, while the share of other companies continues to decrease. This is because not all manufacturers can be on the market, which is shrinking.
