Foxconn and Pegatron are not only the largest producer of gadgets in the world and a major assembler of Apple products. The Chinese company is closed the whole Empire, living by its own rules, where it is almost impossible to get outsiders.

A series of suicides and the subsequent validation partners forced Apple to promise to improve conditions of work and residence for their workers. The British journalists decided to find out how the main collector iPhone fulfilled their promises.

They got into a hostel for workers Pegatron and made a video which was then shown on British television.

As it turned out, the iPhone 6 pickers live in damp multi-storey buildings without elevators, running water and often without electricity. In his spare time employed at the plant, the Chinese spend in the hostels, where a small huddle rooms for 8-12 people. The building has no private showers, and wall cover mould.

“The situation is more reminiscent of a prison complex than a dormitory for workers. Thus for them, taking money for living in such conditions”, – writes The Mail.

Earlier, the management of Pegatron has said it will take all necessary measures to prevent such problems, if any do exist. “The safety and welfare of staff are our top priorities. We set very high standards and we conduct rigorous training for managers and employees. In addition, external auditors regularly visiting our facilities to find new ways to improve”, – says the company.

The reporters came to the conclusion that in such circumstances indirectly to blame Apple and iPhone is the need for the production of a huge number of smartphones in a short time forced to hire more people and to save on their conditions of work and residence, thereby minimizing costs.
