Catherine Adams will replace Brice Sewell, who was the chief yurkonsul’tant in the Apple since 2009 and will retire at the end of this year. Adams will head the legal Department and will report directly to the CEO of Apple Tim cook.

The duties of the legal Advisor includes the management of all legal Affairs of the company, including corporate governance, intellectual property protection, litigation and control over the securities, global security, and confidentiality.
Tim cook described Adams as “an experienced leader with outstanding achievements in their field”. He also conveyed his best wishes to Bruce Sewell.
“We are delighted to welcome Kate to our team. She is an experienced leader with outstanding achievements in their field, who has been involved in litigation around the world. Throughout her career she held the same values that are important to Apple.
We wish the best to Bruce, who is retiring after eight years of work at Apple, and build an extremely successful career. He tirelessly defended our company, our values, intellectual property and the right of clients to privacy. Bruce has set a new standard for legal advisers, and I am proud to have worked with him and can call him friend.”
According to Adams, to join Apple is a great honour.

Sewell said that the eight years spent in the Apple were the most gratifying of his career.
“Working with this amazing management team and amazingly smart people at Apple, especially my colleagues, to ensure the legal and global security, is a great honor for me. The years I spent in this job was the most gratifying of my career. I’m glad Kate joins the team and know she will become a very valuable employee.”
Until recently, Adams served as Vice President and General counsel at Honeywell, where she worked since 2003. Prior to that, she was a partner at the law firm Sidley Austin LLP in new York. Worked as a lawyer in the U.S. Supreme court and trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice.
