Brydge released keyboards for 10.2- and 10.5-inch iPad

iPad for many has become a replacement for the computer. It’s even more correct to say, not as a substitute, but as an alternative. On a compact, lightweight and powerful tablet, it’s convenient to do everyday tasks: answer letters and messages in instant messengers, search for information and just work with documents.

Not everyone likes the Apple Smart Keyboard: someone cannot get used to the size of the keys, someone does not like their move, someone does not have enough space in the palm of his hand. In general, not without cons – although I think that you just need to get used to it: I type on the Smart Keyboard Folio quickly enough, and everything is comfortable.

But if you absolutely can’t get used to the Apple Keyboard Cover, here’s an alternative. The Brydge keyboard was introduced earlier this year for the iPad Pro 11 (2018) and iPad Pro 12.9 (2018), and today, versions for the 10.2- and 10.5-inch iPads have appeared on the Apple Store.

Benefits of Brydge

Firstly, the keyboard is cheaper than the official one: 130 against $ 160. You can buy on the website and in Apple stores.

Secondly, you can adjust the angle of the tablet. Many lack one position on the Smart Keyboard.

Thirdly, there are three colors: gray, silver and pink – choose the color of the device. Well, there is a small “stand” for the wrists, although it is much smaller than the keyboard for the iPad Pro (2018).

And the main advantage, in my opinion, is the backlighting of the keys, as well as an additional row responsible for managing the system. That's what Smart Keyboard is missing! By the way, Brydge keyboards are made of aluminum.

Are there any disadvantages?

Yes, there are two of them: weight and charging. The keyboard weighs about 500 grams, which is almost as much as the weight of the tablet itself. You need to charge the keyboard once a year, provided that it works two hours a day. Absolutely not critical, but Brydge, why micro-USB?

A great alternative to the official keyboard. Rumor has it that the manufacturer is developing a version with a trackpad – at least for the iPad Pro (2018). Well, if you really want to, take a look at the Libra keyboard, the delivery of which should begin in January 2020.
