Assembly MacBook in 2018, will deal with Foxconn

As reported by Digitimes, Apple has decided to reallocate orders associated with the production of the MacBook. It is expected that the second quarter of the bulk of the Assembly work on the laptops will be fulfilled by the company Foxconn.

Various units have been working with Foxconn to Apple. Over the past few years, the Chinese giant has offered more advantageous terms of joint work on the MacBook. The ice in this matter started in the second half of 2017, when Foxconn had carried out the outsourcing the Assembly of some models of the MacBook in factories in Shenzhen.

Previously, most of the Apple related MacBook complied with Quanta Computer. Company representatives declined to comment, but sources at Digitimes say that in recent time Quanta are actively looking for new customers. Currently, Quanta is the largest partner for the production of notebooks for Hewlett-Packard, Acer and Asustek Computer. For the subsidiaries of Quanta is more than 50% of Lenovo laptops.

However, despite the fact that the lion’s share of new orders from Apple to go to Foxconn, experts say that, given previous orders from Apple, as of 2018 Quanta will still be the largest manufacturer of MacBook.
