As it became known, Apple has decided to offer a universal solution in the form of voice assistant Siri, who will perform both functions.
This week the Bureau of patents and trademarks U.S. published patent application, which describes Apple’s own system for analysis and recognition of music. According to the technology, it will be recognized, whether now plays a musical composition, or the user says something into the microphone. This will help Siri to automatically output a suitable response or search result.
Apple’s application was registered in may last year and has only now been approved by the Bureau of patents.
It’s worth noting that Siri can recognize sounding song thanks to a partnership with the popular music service Shazam. The iPhone and iPad on iOS 8 and iOS 9 provided an opportunity to determine the name and the performer of the song, just substituting the device under a speaker playing music.
