Apple: “We apologize,”

For the history of the Apple company apologized to customers only a few times. The most famous case to date was when Tim cook apologized for the failure with Apple Maps in iOS 6.

About an hour ago, Apple released an open letter in which he wrote plainly: “We are sorry”. The letter refers to the fact that the company specifically slowed some models of the iPhone with a worn out battery.

— First and foremost, we’ve never done that and never in the future will not reduce the uptime of any Apple product, or to impair the quality operation to push the user to buy a new device. Our goal has always been to build products that users will love, and will use them as long as possible.

Last year they released 10.2.1 iOS, where Apple developers have provided a system of monitoring the load on the battery. As planned by engineers, the update allowed the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and iPhone SE to avoid deadlocks and other problems associated with the deterioration of the battery.

Basically, the changes went unnoticed, but some users could experience a longer load time of applications and reduce performance.

With the release of iOS 10.2.1, the same power management system is operational and on the iPhone 7 (Plus).

The next year Apple will change the battery on devices from the iPhone 6 and younger at a reduced price. In the US it will cost from $79 to $29. Prices for replacement batteries in Russia and other countries yet to be announced.
