Apple Watch became the most popular smart watch in the first quarter, but lost fitness bracelets Fitbit and Xiaomi

In the first quarter of 2016 Apple sold about 1.5 million Apple Watch, making them the most popular smart watches in the market, suggests a report by the research firm IDC. However, the manufacturers of fitness bracelets Fitbit and Xiaomi is not behind the American competitor, according to researchers, both companies ahead of sales “Apple” of the product more than twice.

IDC notes that Fitbit has helped launch new devices Alta and Blaze: “shipment of millions of units of each of the devices points to a new Chapter in fashion-oriented fitness trackers”.

With regard to Xiaomi: “In the first quarter of 2016, the company ousted Apple from second place, extending its range of affordable smart wristband with a heartbeat sensor and a children’s clock that allow parents to track the location of children. It is worth noting that Xiaomi has achieved success only by users from China. The extension of sales outside the Chinese market still remains difficult.”

Tim cook, noted that, as in the iPod’s case, the largest number of buyers of the Apple Watch is in December. He also noted that sales of smart watches Apple exceeded iPhone sales for the first year.

The new generation of Apple Watch will be released until the fall, but the company from Cupertino is already in talks about new partnerships with designers, including manufacturer handbags Coach.
