Apple stopped signing iOS 9.2.1

After the 9.3.1 release of iOS, Apple has stopped issuing digital certificates to iOS upgrade 9.2.1. Starting today, iPhone users and iPad there is no possibility to roll back to this version of the operating system with the more recent iOS iOS 9.3 or 9.3.1.

The 9.2 release of the iOS took place in late January of this year. The update fixed a number of bugs OS, and improved performance. It is aimed at eliminating bugs, including bugs that could prevent the end of the installation when using an MDM server. The update also focused on improved performance and other modifications the main release.

Recently Apple made a point of signing older firmware for a couple of weeks after the release of the new. This time period was a record high: “window” has closed after two and a half months – the company ceased to issue digital certificates to iOS 9.2.1 on Wednesday, 6 April.

According to the statistics service Tssstatus now Apple does not sign iOS 9.2.1 for any compatible devices. In other words, users can’t downgrade from newer iOS and iOS 9.3 9.3.1 nor updated it from earlier releases.

Current version of the mobile platform is iOS 9.3.1. This release focused on bug fix where the program has stopped responding to touch links in Safari or in other programs. At the moment Apple issues digital certificates for iOS 9.3 and 9.3.1.
