The Federal tax service (FTS) has identified Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung Electronics, Netflix and a further 12 companies for the payment of a “tax on Google”. This follows from the transcript of the meeting Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev with the head of the FTS Mikhail Mishustin.
From 2017, Russia has a law to levy VAT at the rate of 18% with Internet transactions for the sale of foreign companies Russians of electronic services, games, music, books and video products.
“From January 1, entered into force the law on the taxation of electronic services provided by foreign companies, including those related to the delivery of any content — games, the respective electronic services on the territory of the Russian Federation. Today on the appropriate records supplied by Google, Apple, Microsoft, Samsung Electronics, Chelsea, Netflix,” – said Mikhail Mishustin.
Just at the moment of the application for registration was filed by 39 companies, of which in addition listed on the account delivered to: Wargaming, Paddle.com Market Limited, Nintendo, Paddle Payments Limited, Innova Co S. a r.l., KNIGOLUB LTD, Ten Square Games Sp. z o.o. Valve Corporation, Аvangate BV, Digital River Ireland Limited Digital River GmbH, DR MyCommerce Ireland Limited.
According to head FNS, next week is expected statements of group companies Amazon. The registration deadline is January 31.
“We are talking about that now with all the electronic services that will be rendered to the Russians (respectively, on our territory), the company paid the value added tax. This mirrors what is happening in the world, in particular, the model Convention the OECD suggests that,” – said Mishustin.
“At the moment it all goes smoothly and it is important that the activities of large companies that never pay value added tax on the territory of Russia, is in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation”, – said the head of the FNS.
Foreign IT-firms in case of refusal of deductions VAT will be charged with tax evasion and taken from the tax records for one year with a ban on doing business in the country.
Earlier, the Finance Ministry estimated revenues from the “tax on Google” in the amount of about 10 billion rubles.
