Apple reported the largest hacker attack on the App Store

Apple announced the first major cyber attack on its App store. The result was contamination of the service by the malicious program that was integrated into the official app of the manufacturer.

Hackers have introduced malicious code XcodeGhost in tool to create software for Apple platforms. Thus, application developers can use the infected version of the program, not knowing about the embedded virus.

Apple spokeswoman Kristin Monahan announced that the company has already removed the app from the store that were created with the help of malware. She also added that now they have to verify the developer for correct use of the future version of Xcode. Examples of data theft in Cupertino is not found.

“We removed the app from the App Store, which, as we know, were created with the help of this viral software,” said Apple spokeswoman Kristin Monahan. The company emphasizes that controls its developers to use the correct version of Xcode, not malicious XcodeGhost.

On the number of infected apps Apple representative didn’t say anything, she also didn’t specify how iPhone and iPad users can read, not infected their device.

Such a large cyber attack app for iOS was registered for the first time. According to the Chinese company КQihoo360 Technology Co., the infected could be 344 application.

Previously, according to the company on cyber security Palo Alto Networks Inc., in the app store of all time were discovered not more than five malware.
