Apple released iTunes 12.6 with the new “rent, watch anywhere”

In addition to updated iPhone and iPad Apple has released iTunes 12.6 with the new “rent, look anywhere.” A new version is available for download in the Mac App store.

Users can rent a movie on one device and continue watching on another. Previously in iTunes like it was impossible. If, for example, the user rented a picture on an iPhone, it could see it only on a smartphone.

To use the function “watch it anywhere” requires iOS 10.3 and 10.2 tvOS, which are in the testing phase. Release public versions of the OS are expected in the near future.

Apple still imposes a restriction on the viewing of rented movies. As soon as the user starts playing, he’s got 48 hours to finish viewing. However, the ability to watch rented tapes on different gadgets is a big step forward for Apple.

Update iTunes 12.6 with the new “rent, watch anywhere” is already available to Mac and Windows users. Download it on the official Apple website and through the standard system updates.
