Apple planned to use the Intel Kaby Lake in MacBook Pro with Touch Bar

Many manufacturers on the Windows PC announced their new notebooks with Intel processors Kaby Lake. Apple for the latest generation MacBook Pro has chosen not the new Intel Skylake. As reported by WCCFtech, this is a simple explanation.

In fact, Apple wanted to use the advanced processors Kaby Lake, but Intel did not have enough time to ensure their delivery.

The American chip maker has officially unveiled the seventh-generation Core processors at CES 2017 in early January. A formal announcement of the decisions of the Kaby Lake was held in August last year. But then the presents were announced only CPU Kaby Lake-U Lake Kaby-Y, also known under the name Core m. In January it was about the line of chips for laptops that will be used in future models of Mac.

Intel Kaby Lake will appear in the updated MacBook models, which will be released this year. According to reports, the first to use the new architecture will translate the 12-inch MacBook. Mass production of laptops will start in the second quarter of this year. For compact laptops Apple for the first time will offer the option of 16 GB of RAM.

But the next will be 13 – and 15-inch MacBook Pro. Manufacture of portable computers based on Intel Kaby Lake will commence in the third quarter of this year.

Opting Skylake has forced Apple to limit maximum RAM to 16 GB. In the new generation of “proshek” with a screen diagonal of 15 inches will be offered an optional 32 GB of RAM. Previously Vice President of worldwide marketing Phil Schiller explained that the use of the RAM more than 16 GB in the current MacBook Pro would have a negative impact on battery life, because 32 GB of RAM involves the use of another motherboard.
