Apple once again reminds everyone about the end of support for 32-bit applications in macOS

MacOS 10.13.4 there is a new warning message about the presence of misbehaving applications that will stop working in the next version of the system.

Now when you run programs designed for 32-bit architecture, users will see a message indicating that the developer should update the app to provide further compatibility with the system.

All “legacy” software will work as before. Major changes will be presented in the next version of macOS. Apple announced the exact timing of end-of-support 32-bit programs. However, at the last WWDC Vice-President of the company Craig Frederighi noted that High Sierra is the latest version of the system working with such applications.

Additional details of the representatives of the Corporation will announce in June at WWDC 2018.

To find out which applications support 64-bit architecture, and which are not, you need to do the following:

  • Go to “About this Mac” in the upper left corner of the display (the icon in the form of an Apple).
  • Click “system Report”.
  • Find in the list on the left submenu “Program”.
  • Displays a list of all installed programs, each of which will display item 64-bit (Intel) if he says “Yes”, then it supports the new architecture, if “No”, then developers will have to update it.
