Judging by the latest data, inexpensive iPhones may appear on Indian stalls in the near future. So, Reuters sources claim that the iPhone XR and iPhone XS, produced in India, may appear on the market as early as next month.
Apple is already producing cheaper versions of its smartphones, intended only for the Indian market. The number of such devices includes iPhone SE, iPhone 6s and iPhone 7. Now, according to the source of the online publication, the company is working on launching its more premium smartphones in India, the iPhone XS and iPhone XR.
India is a huge smartphone market, but Apple is hard to take a weighty position there. The country has a too high import tax, with the result that the price of the iPhone is kept at a consistently high level, while Chinese manufacturers dominate the market with a lower income. Production of Apple devices in India eliminates the need to pay import taxes, and therefore the company is increasingly launching its own production outside of China.
