Apple may refuse the release of a new iPad Air this year

It’s no secret that the tablet market is falling the last few quarters. Some producers is affected more, some not as noticeable.

For example, in the II quarter of this year, Apple recorded a decrease in the supply of the iPad in annual terms with 16,35 million to 12,62 million units, which is much worse than the market average. Against this background it is not surprising that the operator’s Network appeared rumors about the intention of Cupertino to refuse the release of a new larger iPad models this year.

DigiTimes claims that the main partner of the California giant Foxconn has received orders for the new iPad mini and the iPad Pro. We can assume that the announcement of the iPad Air 3 is postponed in connection with the release of huge models of iPad, and not because of lower demand.

“A source close to the Apple supply chain, announced plans for the manufacturer to leave the current line of tablets, the iPad Air 2 model. The company is ready to release the fourth generation iPad mini and industrial partners already established production of components. iPad mini 4 will have minor changes compared with the third generation of the device.”

Such a scenario seems quite possible, as the tablet represents that category of devices, which is not so strongly influenced by fashion and marketing, as smartphones, which means that buyers are not willing to change their devices every year. Moreover, the last generation iPad, by and large, is not so very different from each other from the point of view of the ordinary consumer.
