Apple is working on implementing the camera in the Apple Watch

Apple has patented a new design of the Apple Watch with built-in camera and support for Face ID.

The information that smart watches Apple will be the front facing camera appeared in October last year.

The Corporation does not speak specifically about the Face ID and describes the potential of the camera as a sensor that can pull nearby objects. Including QR codes and barcodes. However, in the patent application mentions the possibility to photograph the wearer. Most likely, the engineers just mean the facial recognition Face ID. This system, in turn, can be used to unlock hours and make purchases using Apple Pay.

Of course, we should not expect the emergence of full-fledged camera TrueDepth as iPhone X. First, the clock will appear compact and functional camera. Perhaps in the future it will be moved under the display and over time will grow to the level of the current front facing cameras in smartphones and computers. This will allow you to take on the Apple Watch pictures in good quality.

The patent application was filed in the third quarter of 2017. The date of its implementation, of course, unknown, and on the development of such a camera can take a few years.
