Apple has opened in Switzerland, the research unit, which is likely to be engaged in the project to develop a self-driving car. This writes the local resource Inside-IT with reference to informed sources.

Open Apple jobs indicate that specialists will participate in the project to create a car without a driver. In particular, the first ten PhD students and scientific staff ETH Zurich (ETH Zurich) who have moved from school to work in the lab Apple specializiruetsya in the field of visual navigation.

Apple itself has refused official comment on the matter. Meanwhile, Professor Roland Siegwart, who heads the laboratory for Autonomous systems at the Institute of robotics and intelligent systems at ETH Zurich, announced that five of its employees moved to international corporations such as Apple and Google.

Apple from time to time publishes information on new international research facilities, but often are trying to advertise their designs especially when it comes to new product categories.

The current status of the project on creation of the car, known as Project Titan, is uncertain. Apple itself has never confirmed the development. And the look of the car we can judge only on the meager information leaked to the press. According to them, the electric car will be similar to the minivan.

Some experts believed that the electric car will be fully Autonomous, but then it turned out that Apple gave preference to manned cars (supposedly unmanned version may appear later). As for timing, according to recent information, Apple Car needs to be represented in 2021.
