Earlier readers MacDigger steel to report a strange bug that appears on devices running the new operating system. When you try to open the link in Safari, Messages, Mail, Notes, and other apps hang or crash the browser is closed.

The failure occurs on the iPhone, updated to iOS 9.3. If the start page Safari one of the links, the app stops responding to user actions. Attempt to unload the browser from the multitasking bar and restarting the program solves the problem. Judging by the numerous complaints on the website and in Twitter account AppleSupport, the problem is widespread on the iPhone different generations.

As it became known MacDigger, the source of the problem lies in the function of universal references, which gave developers the ability to use the same link to their app and website. This means that users clicking the URL, can access the content directly in the app on your device.

Many developers started to use this option, registering hundreds or even thousands of domains (e.g., Wikipedia Mobile, Yelp Eat24, Let Go, and Mercado Libre Bookings.com). When the user installs an update, iOS re-processes the list of registered domains and a large number of updates results in a failure in the system.

In Apple found a solution and will offer it soon. Simultaneously, the company works with developers to help them optimize the process of using universal references.
