Apple has patented a new method of the management interface of operating systems by means of sight

Bureau of patents and trademarks U.S. has granted Apple a patent on the technology by which computer interface and mobile devices can be controlled eyes. The application was filed in September 2012. It describes a new way of managing different events on an electronic device like a pop-up notification to different applications, based on the technology of tracking eye movements.

According to the Apple patent built-in devices camera will record eye movement, and then associate them with elements of the interface of the operating system. The interface will track the human eye and in certain circumstances to activate items on the screen.

So, when you enter text, AutoCorrect can detect and correct errors without physical contact with the gadget. When an error is detected, the algorithm AutoCorrect in iOS or OS X will log this event and then issue a pop-up window. The user can override the AutoCorrect feature by touching the element interface, or merely casting his eyes on the keyboard or the window of another application.

As conceived by Apple engineers, this method of device management can be applied to a variety of events like pop-UPS, notifications, and even to turn on the backlight of the display. An alternative to sensory and gesture control is not her name, but such a system of tracking eye movements may help in the management of more complex interfaces.

Apple’s patent mentions several ways to use the new system: these are both iOS devices and Mac and the Apple TV. It is possible that in the latter case, the function of tracking the user’s eye will replace voice control when selecting channels and scrolling through the menu.
