Apple has added iPhone to the list of devices compatible with Lightning adapter to connect your cameras

A few weeks after the update adapter Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader, and the 9.2 release of iOS, Apple has added iPhone to the list of devices that officially support proprietary “Adapter Lightning to USB camera”.

In iOS software release 9.2, as you know, the opportunity to import your iPhone photos and videos with other devices. Before the release of this version of the operating system is not enabled to transmit data to smartphones via a Lightning adapter. This accessory was only compatible with the iPad, letting you upload photos and videos from digital cameras. Before you try to use the accessory with iPhone users saw the message “Not supported by this device”.

On the description page of the product now appears that the accessory works with iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. In contrast to the adapter to read SD cards, it does not support USB 3.0, available for the iPad Pro.

On Apple devices, simply plug the “Lightning to USB camera”, and the gadget will automatically open the Photos app, where you can select photos and videos to import, then organize them into albums. After sync iPhone with PC or Mac, the photos and videos will be added to your computer’s photo library. In a similar way the function works both on iPhone and iPad.

An adapter “Lightning to USB” camera supports standard photo formats, including JPEG and RAW, along with SD and HD video, including H. 264 and MPEG-4.

iPhone in the list of supported devices can be see only in the American version of the online Apple store, in the Russian lists only models of the iPad.
