This week Apple announced the upcoming start of sales of smart watches Apple Watch in retail stores. As it became known, all pre-orders for the new product, registered in may, will be completed within two weeks, except for the 42 mm Apple Watch models in black. The latter will not be available in the retail outlets, while not all devices will be delivered to buyers.
Before the Apple Watch was only offered on pre-order at the online Apple store and the Apple Store could only fit a model to your liking and try it on your hand.
“Thank you for what you ordered Apple Watch. We work hard to ship orders as quickly as possible in the order of their reservation. As you may know, some versions of Apple Watch will soon be sold in the Apple Store. We want to inform you that the model you ordered will not be available for purchase in stores until, until you have shipped all online orders,” – said in an email campaign for Apple.
The transition from online trading to implement in retail stores suggests that Apple undertook the bulk of orders. Jeff Williams, senior Vice President of Apple’s chief operating officer, said that the company is almost solved the lag for pre-order and thanks all customers for their patience.
On 26 June, the geography of sales of the Apple Watch will be extended by seven countries, including Italy, Switzerland, Mexico, Singapore, Spain, South Korea and Taiwan. In these countries, the smart watch will be available both online and in conventional stores, but also in selling points of Apple’s partners.
Since in April, Apple began taking pre-orders Watch, its representatives never called sales volumes, although there are continued allegations that the demand for the new product exceeded all expectations.
In Russia, the official sales launch of the Apple Watch is not expected before autumn.
