Apple designer Marc Newson created the hourglass with “nanosilica” for 700 thousand rubles

Hourglass designer Apple count down 10 minutes. Instead of the usual sand they use “nanosilica” – stainless steel bearings, copper-plated. The novelty will be released in a limited edition of 100 copies for $12 000 (about 680 000) each.

Marc Newson was born in Australia, but the last 20 years he lived in London. He is a longtime friend of Apple’s design chief Jonathan Ive. Together they created a number of projects, many of which were sold at charity auctions.
