Apple could keep the name “iPhone 7” for model 2017

According to reports, Apple is planning to reserve the name “iPhone 7” smartphone, which will debut on the market in 2017. It is reported by Venturebeat, citing sources close to the company.

At the moment, this information is attributed to the category of rumors. However, this makes sense, given the minor design changes of the next iPhone. In addition, this leakage is consistent with the information that Apple switches to a longer three-year update cycle of the iPhone design, as practiced today against the two-year cycle.

iPhone release 2016 will get minor exterior changes compared to the current flagship iPhone 6s. The standard version should get a 4.7-inch screen, and its “big brother” will be equipped with 5.5-inch display — same as last year. Among the most significant changes is called a waiver of a standard 3.5 mm headphone Jack, and a dual camera module, the rumors which have been circulating for months.

Thus the appearance of the iPhone will remain essentially unchanged for three generations of Apple’s smartphone. And this may require introducing additional notation such gadgets, which will be tested this year.

Informed sources indicate that major changes in the design of “Apple” smartphone is worth the wait just to 2017, when Apple will be celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the iPhone.

The publication does not specify the possible name of the iPhone in 2016 and is said only that the novelty will be called the iPhone 6 “some designation” (by analogy with the iPhone 6s).
