Apple bought a startup, Pop Up Archive, designed to search audio files and podcasts. This was reported by Appleinsider.
Pop Up Archive is a small company founded in 2012. Its staff specialized in the creation of tools to transcribable, organize and search audio files. They also created a website to search for podcasts Audiosearch.ch.
This project invested organization, specializing in the development of promising companies such as Bloomberg Beta and 500 Startups.
Apple indirectly confirmed the purchase, but did not disclose any details, limiting habitual, memorized a phrase:
“Apple from time to time absorbs inexpensive technology company, but we generally do not discuss our goals and future plans.”
Sites Pop Up Archive and Audiosearch.ch blacked out November 28. Probably it was at this time a deal was struck.
Most likely, Apple will use the products Pop Up Archive for improving search engine in the Podcasts app for iOS.
